Contemporary Israeli Art
Contemporary art is influenced by and influences the world around it, encouraging pluralism – accepting all ways of thinking and creative processes – and characterized by various creative movements that operate at the same time. This art is complex and aims to rattle, renew, and enrich ways of seeing and patterns of thought.
Contemporary art offers the central stage to philosophical issues that characterize our world and seeks to influence them, by bringing up controversial issues such as personal, political, and social identity, family, community and society, and protecting the environment.
Contemporary art is characterized by a borderless world, a multi-cultural mix crossing continents and genders. It utilizes diverse materials and the tools that modern technology provides. It is often misunderstood, drawing suspicious criticism.
This exhibition features a variety of images selected from different series, representing contemporary issues troubling the artists, and enabling the viewer to penetrate their inner world. The exhibition allows the individual artists to express their views and agendas, in tune with Israeli and world culture.
