26 And [on the sixth day] God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:26-27, KJV).
The exhibition entitled “HUMAN WORLD” presents the work of contemporary artists from all over Israel to visitors to the WIENA'S LOFT8 GALLERY, AUSTRIA.
The exhibition displays a rich mosaic of artistic techniques and genres, allowing viewers to enjoy innumerable styles of artistic expression. Many of the artists have chosen to consider ‘human’ in all possible forms, while some have chosen to focus on the objects that surround man.
The works vary from realistic photo images to abstract works intermingle with different kind materials of sculptures.
This is not just an exhibition in a foreign land but rather another channel of communication with the world around us that has not yet had the opportunity to become aware of the large range of Israeli artistic talent.
This cooperative venture of the ICU with the Magister Hubert Thurnhofer as Austrian side curator is further evidence of the power of art to build bridges between people and to create additional openings for deep inter-cultural understanding.
